- Air has landed a five-year Army C2 software deal
- Initial NGC2 software work will center on I Corps
- The AI-native readiness platform supports Army sustainment planning
Air has secured a potential five-year, $200 million contract from the Department of War to support the U.S. Army’s Next Generation Command and Control, or NGC2, ecosystem.
The company said Monday the contract continues its work with the Army on NGC2.
What Is the Scope of the DOW Contract?
Under the contract, Air will work with the Army and industry partners to deliver NGC2 software. The effort will begin with I Corps as the Army moves NGC2 beyond division-level prototyping toward operational use across the force.
The work follows field trials Air conducted with the 4th Infantry Division. The company has supported NGC2 since the program’s start, providing software through development and field testing to address operational bottlenecks, speed up mission planning and shorten sensor-to-shooter-to-sustainer timelines.
Air capabilities were also used during the Army’s Project Convergence Capstone 6, an exercise that simulates realistic scenarios to test future warfare capabilities.
“This award reflects the U.S. Army’s continued trust in Air to power the future of command and control,” said Air CEO Tara Murphy Dougherty. “By delivering real-time, AI-driven operational truth across every class of supply, Air helps eliminate friction and ensures our forces remain combat-ready at mission speed.”
What Is Air Enterprise Readiness?
Air Enterprise Readiness is an artificial intelligence-native platform designed to turn frontline operational data into real-time demand signals. The platform is intended to give commanders advance insight into supply levels, unit capacity and force readiness, allowing sustainment planning to shift from a reactive approach to a predictive one.
The platform is also designed to bring development, production, delivery and sustainment activities into a single execution system to identify available capacity, surface constraints and coordinate critical resources.
What Is Air?
Air is a technology company that develops AI-native systems in a category it calls enterprise readiness. The company’s systems are designed to narrow the gap between frontline operational needs and what the national security enterprise can deliver. Formerly known as Govini, the company rebranded as Air in June and has since made several changes to its leadership team.
In July, Air named David Kensick, former chief experience officer of ID.me, chief operating officer. Later that month, the company appointed Anuj Vohra, a former partner at Crowell & Moring, as general counsel and added NightDragon CEO Dave DeWalt to its board of directors.
In September, Air brought on former ServiceNow executive Andrej Danko as chief product and technology officer. In that role, he oversees the company’s product strategy, development, engineering, and research and development.
Air secured a $31 million DOW contract to provide its Enterprise Readiness platform in support of the Air Force’s Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile and the broader ICBM enterprise.
