- The appointment is the latest of Air’s organizational changes in line with its rebranding into an enterprise readiness firm
Air announced Wednesday that it has appointed Dave DeWalt, CEO of NightDragon, to its board of directors.
DeWalt joins the board more than a month after Air rebranded from its name Govini, which is part of its strategy to concentrate on its enterprise readiness platform.
“Dave’s unparalleled expertise and proven track record in scaling impactful technology companies make him an invaluable addition to our board,” Air CEO Tara Murphy Dougherty remarked. “As we continue to advance our mission to close the Readiness Gap, Dave’s strategic vision and deep understanding of the national security landscape will be instrumental in the next chapter of our growth.”
What Is DeWalt’s Professional Experience?
DeWalt brings more than two decades of cybersecurity and technology leadership to the role. He has served as CEO of four companies, including FireEye, McAfee and Documentum, and is credited with generating more than $20 billion in shareholder value over his career. He currently leads NightDragon, a venture capital and advisory firm focused on growth- and late-stage cybersecurity firms as well as defense and artificial intelligence companies.
DeWalt has also held more than 40 board positions in companies such as Delta Air Lines and Exelon. His government advisory experience includes the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, as well as a term as vice chair of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s Cybersecurity Advisory Committee.
What Are the Other Organizational Changes at Air?
Before DeWalt’s appointment, Air has been making changes to its leadership since its rebranding. On Friday, the company appointed Anuj Vohra as general counsel. Earlier this month, Air hired former ID.me chief experience officer David Kensick to serve as its chief operating officer.
