Thales said Monday Zolet succeeds Michael Sheehan, who is retiring after over 16 years at the helm of TDSI.

What Experience Does Zolet Bring to TDSI?

Zolet has spent over 30 years in leadership roles spanning the technology, government services and national security sectors. He has steered companies through periods of expansion and organizational change while emphasizing operational performance and the execution of customer missions.

Thales said TDSI will continue to expand its capabilities and partnerships under Zolet’s leadership to help military and government customers address operational challenges.

Robert Geckle, CEO of Thales North America and a previous Wash100 Award recipient, said Zolet’s background and strategic outlook position him to lead the company.

“David is a highly respected leader whose experience and strategic vision make him the right choice to lead Thales Defense & Security,” stated Geckle, who joined Thales in July after leading Airbus U.S. Space & Defense as chairman and CEO. “We are excited to welcome him and look forward to his contributions as TDSI continues to support defense customers with critical technologies.”

He has also held senior leadership positions at Northrop Grumman, IBM and DXC Technology, where he oversaw large-scale operations and worked to improve organizational performance and broaden capabilities.

Zolet noted that defense customers require advanced, integrated technologies as the global security landscape becomes more complex.

“TDSI combines leading technologies, deep expertise and customer focus, backed by the strength of Thales globally,” he said. “I look forward to working with TDSI’s talented employees to build on their accomplishments and advance the missions our customers depend on us to support.”
