The Reston, Virginia-based company said Wednesday the five-year, firm-fixed-price contract, awarded under the Air Force’s Contract Augmentation Program V, or AFCAP V, provides essential services needed by the vital tracking and instrumentation station located in Ascension Island to enhance operational efficiency, reinforce infrastructure and bolster mission outcomes.
The task order has a one-year base period with four one-year option periods. The project is expected to begin in July 2025.
Ascension Island is a remote island located in the South Atlantic Ocean. Its strategic location enables the Space Force to utilize it for ground tracking operations and other activities supporting the broader Eastern Range mission.
AFCAP V
V2X is one of six companies selected by the Air Force for the AFCAP V, which covers worldwide contingency and humanitarian support services, including contingency planning, force training, emergency and contingency construction services, logistics and commodities. In April 2024, the ceiling value of the contract was increased from $6.4 billion to $15 billion. The other companies awarded spots under the multiple-award contract are Amentum, ECC International, Fluor, KBR and Readiness Management Support.
