By Light Professional IT Services has appointed former Department of War cyber leader Jeffrey Jones as executive vice president for cyber.

Who Is Jeffrey Jones?
Jones is a cyber and national security executive who brings to By Light nearly three decades of leadership experience focused on cybersecurity, data management and digital modernization. He previously served as the deputy to the commanding general of U.S. Army Cyber Command, the vice director of the Joint Staff J6 and the executive director of Joint Force Headquarters-Department of Defense Information Network.
He founded Barrix Nexus Group in July 2025 and serves in advisory roles at the Technology Advancement Center, F5, Crescent Bridge and Touchstone Futures. During a previous tenure at By Light, he served as EVP, overseeing enterprise strategy and supporting government and commercial clients on cybersecurity and digital transformation initiatives.

What Role Will Jeffrey Jones Play at By Light?
In his new role, Jones will spearhead By Light’s cyber initiatives, directing strategic growth and execution to support mission-critical missions. According to Jones, he aims to combine cyber training, operations and infrastructure into a unified platform to help advance mission readiness and execution. His appointment follows By Light’s recent acquisition of Dignitas Technologies, which expanded By Light’s modeling, simulation and training capabilities.
“I’ve spent my career operating at the intersection of cyber, intelligence, and national security, and By Light is where those capabilities come together at real scale,” said Jones.
