DCS Acquires ARCTOS to Expand Aerospace, Defense Engineering Capabilities

DCS is strengthening its position in the aerospace and defense markets with the acquisition of ARCTOS Technology Solutions. DCS said Thursday it will combine ARCTOS’ expertise in aerospace safety, propulsion, advanced manufacturing and technology transition with its engineering and technical services portfolio.

“This acquisition represents an exciting step forward,” said Jim Benbow, chairman and CEO of DCS. “Together, our team of experts will accelerate the delivery of innovative solutions that enhance national security and advance critical aerospace and defense technologies.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

What Is ARCTOS?

Headquartered in Beavercreek, Ohio, ARCTOS provides research and development and engineering services supporting air and space mission capabilities. The company has a 60-year heritage in aerospace innovation across structures and materials, propulsion and flight technologies, sensors and electronics, and launch and flight safety.

ARCTOS supports federal agencies and commercial aerospace companies through applied research programs that help transition emerging technologies into operational capabilities in areas such as hypersonics, sustainment and advanced manufacturing.

In 2022, ARCTOS was among 26 companies selected for positions on a potential 10-year, $869 million U.S. Army contract to provide research, development, engineering and acquisition support services.

Chris Greamo, president and CEO of ARCTOS, said the transaction enhances the combined companies’ ability to compete in the defense technology market.

“The combination of ARCTOS and DCS represents an important strategic step that enhances our capabilities and bolsters our ability to compete in a rapidly changing marketplace,” Greamo said.

What Is DCS?
