Lockheed Martin has received a U.S. Navy contract modification valued at $132.9 million to continue providing flight test support for the F-35 Lightning II fighter aircraft.

Recent Navy contract actions with industry underscore the service’s continued focus on innovation, sustainment and operational readiness across key platforms. These priorities will be part of the broader discussion at the Potomac Officers Club’s 2026 Navy Summit on Aug. 27, where senior Navy leaders, defense officials and industry executives will examine how emerging technologies are shaping the future of naval operations. What Is the Scope of the Navy Contract Modification?
The Department of War said Thursday the modification exercises options under a previously issued cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for ongoing testing of new F-35 capabilities used by the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and non-DOW participants.
Lockheed will provide administrative support, maintenance and test preparation for facilities used to evaluate new aircraft capabilities. The work will support training systems laboratories, flight test labs, and Autonomic Logistics Information System, or ALIS, and Operational Data Integrated Network, or ODIN, laboratories used during F-35 testing.
Naval Air Systems Command obligated $4.5 million in fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.
Work will take place in Texas, California, Maryland, Florida, New Hampshire and other locations across the continental U.S. Additional work will occur in the United Kingdom.
The Pentagon expects work under the contract modification to conclude in March 2027.
In June 2025, Lockheed secured a $250 million contract modification from the Navy to produce and support the F-35 Lightning II logistics information system.
What Is ALIS?
ALIS is an integrated information system designed to support sustainment and operational activities for the F-35 Lightning II fleet. According to Lockheed, the system integrates functions such as maintenance, operations, prognostics, supply chain management, training, customer support services and technical data into a unified information environment for F-35 operators.
What Is ODIN?
ODIN is a cloud-native system designed to integrate a suite of user-centered applications and data environment to improve F-35 aircraft readiness and sustainment operations. It allows software engineers to rapidly build and field updates in response to warfighter requirements.
