AT&T Expands Tang Pham’s Leadership Role Within Federal Business

Tang Pham, a 2026 Wash100 Award recipient, will hold an expanded leadership role within AT&T‘s federal business, according to information sent to GovCon Wire on Friday.

Building on his leadership as vice president of defense since March 2025, Pham will oversee AT&T’s national security segment, supporting the White House, the intelligence community, and the Departments of State, Homeland Security and War.

Who Is Tang Pham?

Pham has over two decades of experience in the information technology market, with work spanning defense, intelligence and federal civilian agencies.

Before joining AT&T, he served as general manager of Microsoft’s national security group. Earlier in his career, Pham spent 13 years at ManTech as vice president of technology commercialization.

Throughout his career, Pham has focused on applying commercial technologies to mission environments, particularly in areas tied to secure communications and digital modernization.

“Critical advancements in areas like cybersecurity and AI are increasingly born out of national security needs, then adapted for commercial use,” Pham said in a previous interview with ExecutiveBiz.

What Is AT&T’s Approach to Federal Mission Support?

According to the executive, the company works to align commercial technology investments with the requirements of federal agencies.

“AT&T brings an 80-percent commercial solution, then works side-by-side with our government partners to refine the final 20-percent for mission-specific requirements,” he said.

Why Is Tang Pham’s Role Expanding?

Pham’s expanded responsibilities follow the retirement of Jill Singer as vice president of national security.

Singer, an eight-time Wash100 Award recipient, oversaw significant growth in the business during her tenure, including major contract wins across intelligence community agencies.
