What Does the ISV Contract Cover?

The Department of War said Wednesday GM Defense will deliver 121 ISV units, anti-lock brake system and electronic stability control kits, and vehicle storage covers.

What Are the Contract Details?

The award, managed by the Army Contracting Command at Detroit Arsenal, is part of a broader contract valued at approximately $458.4 million. The solicitation was issued online and three bids were received. Work locations and funding obligations will be established with each individual order. The contract is expected to run through April 30, 2027.

What Is the Infantry Squad Vehicle?

The ISV is a lightweight tactical transport platform designed to move soldiers quickly across challenging terrain. The nine-passenger vehicle is based on the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 platform and uses a high percentage of commercially available components. Built for expeditionary operations, it can be transported by C-17, C-130, CH-47 Chinook, CH-53 or UH-60 Black Hawk aircraft.

GM Defense’s Earlier ISV Awards

The latest award continues GM Defense’s work on the Army’s ISV program. In 2020, the company received firm-fixed-price contracts worth about $222.9 million to manufacture the ISV and provide installation kits, hardware and logistics services, and perform initial ISV deliveries and integrated support services. In April 2023, the Army approved the program to begin full-rate production.
