The Department of Defense said Friday the Ultra business initially received a $83.8 million firm-fixed-price contract to deliver AN/SPS-73(V) Next Generation Surface Search Radar systems. The total value of the contract will increase to up to $420.5 million if all options are exercised.
Most of the project will be done in Braintree, Massachusetts while the rest of the work will be performed in Wake Forest, North Carolina and Chantilly, Virginia. The contract is set to be completed by August 2027 but may extend to September 2031 if all options are taken up.
The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C. will allocate $57.8 million, or 69 percent of the amount, from the Navy’s fiscal 2024 other procurement funds. An additional $14.4 million will be obligated from fiscal 2024 shipbuilding and conversion funds while $8.7 million will come from fiscal 2023 shipbuilding and conversion funds. Lastly, the amount of $2.9 million will be allotted from fiscal 2025 shipbuilding and conversion funds.
