TransDigm Finalizes $765M Cash Acquisition of RTX’s Simmonds Precision Products

TransDigm Group has officially closed its $765 million cash acquisition of the Simmonds Precision Products business from RTX, further strengthening its position in the aerospace and defense industry.

The Cleveland, Ohio-based aircraft components manufacturer said Monday the transaction, initially announced on June 30, includes certain tax advantages and was funded using TransDigm’s existing cash reserves.

Strategic Components for Aerospace & Defense

Simmonds, formerly part of RTX subsidiary Goodrich, is known for its highly engineered products, which are crucial to the aerospace and defense sectors. Its product portfolio includes proprietary fuel systems, proximity sensing platforms and structural health monitoring technologies.

Simmonds Projects $350M in 2025 Revenue

The Vergennes, Vermont-based company generates close to 40 percent of its revenue from aftermarket sales, with the remainder largely driven by its proprietary offerings. Simmonds, supported by a workforce of approximately 900 employees, is projected to earn roughly $350 million in 2025.
