In an earnings release published Wednesday, the Reston, Virginia-based company said organic growth accounted for 2.1 percent of the quarter’s revenue gain. Department of War revenue climbed 14.8 percent to $1.35 billion, representing nearly 55 percent of the total, while intelligence community sales grew 2.6 percent to $612 million and federal civilian revenue declined 3.7 percent to $396.4 million.

Net income for the period reached $130.4 million, or $5.84 per diluted share, up 4.5 percent from the same quarter last year. On an adjusted basis, net income increased 12.7 percent to $171 million, and diluted earnings per share rose 11.8 percent to $7.66.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, or EBITDA, grew 22.4 percent to $328.8 million, lifting the margin to 13.3 percent from 11.7 percent a year earlier. CACI generated $133.5 million in free cash flow, compared with $143 million in the prior-year quarter, and attributed the dip in operating cash mainly to higher working capital.

The company secured $4.8 billion in contract awards during the quarter, about 61 percent of which came from new business, for a book-to-bill ratio of 2.0x. Funded backlog stood at $6.2 billion as of Sept. 30, up 14.8 percent from a year ago, within a total backlog of $34 billion.

What Are CACI’s Notable Q1 FY27 Contract Wins?

The quarter’s bookings were led by two awards from U.S. Central Command and the Army’s special operations component, followed by a series of Navy, Army and Space Force wins:

  • USCENTCOM selected CACI for a $1.5 billion-ceiling award, structured as a one-year base with four option periods, under which the company will strengthen planning, analysis and information integration for the command and its partners through the Apollo effort. CACI recorded $1.2 billion of the ceiling as awards and backlog in the quarter.
  • U.S. Army Special Operations Command issued CACI a five-year, $1.6 billion task order to sustain operational planning and support under the Special Operations Forces Emerging Threats, Operations, and Planning Support 2 program. The company booked $1.2 billion of that value in the quarter.
  • The Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane awarded CACI a five-year task order worth up to $281 million to advance electromagnetic warfare capabilities across DOW.
  • The Army’s Program Manager Expeditionary Energy and Sustainment Systems tapped CACI for a five-year task order valued at up to $185 million to develop and integrate technologies that enable soldiers to operate in austere and contested settings.

  • The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division awarded the company a four-year task order worth up to $146 million to help develop next-generation maritime capabilities.
  • CACI is one of 15 companies selected for the U.S. Space Force’s National Space Test and Training Complex Innovative Technology & Engineering – Space Test and Range contract, under which it will help modernize the test and training infrastructure that supports realistic space operations.

The company secured additional awards from undisclosed government customers covering IT system development and sustainment, communications modernization and financial management system upgrades.

What Other Q1 Milestones Did CACI Report?

During the quarter, CACI opened a 61,000-square-foot defense electronics manufacturing center of excellence in the Greater Rochester, New York, area. The facility expands the company’s manufacturing space by more than 300 percent and supports production and testing for the Army’s Terrestrial Layer System Brigade Combat Team Manpack electronic warfare program.

The company promoted Marcie Small to executive vice president and chief human resources officer, succeeding the retiring Angie Combs. Small previously served as CACI’s senior VP of talent acquisition and growth.
