State Dept Clears South Korea’s $250M Follow-On Reconnaissance Aircraft Support Request

The State Department has approved a potential $250M foreign military sale of follow-on items and support services for South Korea's Peace Krypton reconnaissance aircraft fleet.

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) will be the prime contractor on the proposed deal to modernize ground infrastructure, implement a joint mission planning system and maintain prime mission equipment, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Friday.

The proposed FMS deal also includes minor upgrades, technical documentation, engineering, logistics, spares repair and program support.

DSCA noted that implementing the agreement would extend interoperability between South Korea-U.S. intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems.
