Alion ISR Group Appraised at CMMI Level 4 for Software Development

Alion Science and Technology’s intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance group has been appraised at Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 4 for Development V2.0 (CMMI-DEV) for software development with Supplier Agreement Management (SAM). The appraisal was performed by the Software Quality Center. A maturity level 4 appraisal signifies that Alion is performing at a “defined” level.

Army Needs Industry Input on ISR Payloads for MQ-1C Unmanned Aircraft

The U.S. Army seeks market information on payloads for aerial intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance that would support the MQ-1C Gray Eagle's joint all-domain operations. The service branch said Wednesday in a SAM notice it needs to identify market sources of synthetic aperture radar, moving target indicator, electronic intelligence and other AISR payloads for the Gray Eagle.

Air Force Seeks Kill Chain Integration Concept Papers

The U.S. Air Force has asked industry to submit concept papers on kill chain integration platforms needed to ensure spectrum awareness of emerging threats. Topics of interest include intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance advancement, machine learning and artificial intelligence, enhanced situational awareness, improvements to existing Air Force/Department of Defense infrastructure, cryptographic operations advancement, geospatial analysis of social media, exploitation of enemy threat systems, anti-access/anti-denial environments and 5th to 4th generation communications.

ASEC-AVIAN JV Wins Navy’s $85M Integration Support Contract; Kevin Switick, Vinnie Bellezza Quoted

A², the ASEC-AVIAN joint venture, was recently awarded a five-year, $85 million single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Navy to provide Airborne Systems Integration support to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division's Webster Outlying Field. “The A² joint-venture expands the market space and allows us to work together instead of competing over the same work,” said Kevin Switick, CEO of AVIAN.
