State Dept OKs $126M Philippine Request for Assault Boats, Weapon Systems

The State Department has approved a potential $126M foreign military sale of armed assault vessels, ancillary equipment and contractor support services to the Philippines. The possible FMS transaction includes 36 scout boats, 36 assault boats, 18 light support boats, 156 M240B machine guns and other equipment such as forward-looking infrared, thermal imaging and RF-7850 radio systems, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Thursday.

Heidi Grant, director of the Defense Technology Security Administration, has been appointed to serve as the Defense Security Cooperation Agency's next director, the Pentagon reported Friday. She will succeed Lt. Gen. Charles Hooper, who has led DSCA since August 2017 and is a former Wash100 Award recipient.

The State Department has approved a potential $250M foreign military sale of follow-on items and support services for South Korea's Peace Krypton reconnaissance aircraft fleet. Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) will be the prime contractor on the proposed deal to modernize ground infrastructure, implement a joint mission planning system and maintain prime mission equipment, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Friday.

Israel Gets State Dept OK for $3B Military Aviation Fuel Procurement

The State Department has approved Israel's request to buy 990M gallons of military aviation petroleum products via a  potential $3B foreign military sale transaction. Israel asked to purchase JP-8 fuel for the country's operational aircraft maintenance efforts along with diesel fuel and unleaded gasoline for ground vehicles, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Monday.
