ASRC Federal announced Thursday that it has promoted Jennifer Mehall to president of its Defense & Intelligence Operating Group.
Mehall takes over the position previously held by Mike Manzo, who now serves as the company’s president and chief executive officer. In her new capacity, Mehall will set strategic priorities, guide day-to-day operations and shape solutions for the company’s broad base of defense-sector clients.
What Is Jennifer Mehall’s Career Background?
Mehall brings a decade of tenure at ASRC Federal to the role. She most recently held a dual assignment as senior vice president and general manager overseeing the combined Professional Support Services and Broadleaf divisions, while also leading Defense & Intelligence Operations. In that capacity, she directed professional support and cybersecurity work for major Department of War customers — among them the Army, Navy and the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency — and was credited with driving year-over-year growth in the double digits.
Beyond her time at ASRC Federal, Mehall brings more than 25 years of experience in federal contracting across both defense and civilian markets. Her background includes serving as senior vice president of operations at CACI and VP of operations at Chenega. She also served over two years as VP of USIS.
What Are the Other Executive Changes at ASRC?
Aside from Mike Manzo being appointed as president and CEO in April, ASRC Federal also named Scott Altman executive vice president of strategic engagement and Mike Mazzella as president of its space operating group.
Mike Manzo brings over 20 years of experience leading operations and technical teams in support of federal customers spanning defense, intelligence and civilian agencies. Prior to joining ASRC Federal, he was selected as VP and general manager at General Dynamics Information Technology. He also worked at General Dynamics Mission Systems for more than two decades, where he progressed from chief engineer of geospatial systems to senior manager of systems engineering, eventually taking on director-level roles overseeing motion imagery products and geospatial intelligence mission processing and exploitation.
Scott Altman has spent 16 years at ASRC Federal, previously serving as president of the company’s space operating group. In his expanded role, he will focus on enterprise-wide partnerships with government customers and industry primes while working to better align the workforce with ASRC Federal’s broader mission goals. Before his corporate career, Altman flew as a U.S. Navy aviator and later served as a NASA astronaut, an experience that has informed his oversight of major programs such as the National Airspace System Engineering effort and NASA’s Artemis lunar initiative.
Mike Mazzella arrived at the president post of ASRC Federal’s space operating group with more than three decades of experience across the space and civilian contracting markets, stepping into the role after serving as the group’s chief operating officer. Prior to joining ASRC Federal, he spent time in senior leadership at SAIC, where he was SVP of the company’s civilian business unit. Taking over from Altman, Mazzella is expected to concentrate on driving growth for the space team and sustaining strong performance in program execution.
