- Aurex appointed former Firefly Aerospace executive Bob Jurenko as business development vice president
- Jurenko will be responsible for fostering new customer relationships and promoting the company’s product portfolio
- Jurenko previously served as director of hypersonic and strategic defense programs at Firefly Aerospace
Aerospace and defense company Aurex announced Monday it has named Bob Jurenko vice president of business development.
Jurenko joins the company with a background spanning emerging technologies and the commercial aerospace sector. He most recently served as director of hypersonic and strategic defense programs at Firefly Aerospace.
What Will Be Jurenko’s Responsibilities as Business Development VP?
Jurenko’s new responsibilities include broadening the company’s business opportunities, building relationships with new customers, and leading efforts to highlight the organization’s expanding product lineup and technical capabilities.
The appointment follows Aurex’s recent presence at a symposium in Huntsville, Alabama, where the company presented a set of offerings, including new capabilities for hypersonic development and testing, as well as broader mission support services. With that momentum behind him, Aurex expects Jurenko to help link these emerging technologies to customers and partners across the industry, while pinpointing new avenues to meet shifting defense requirements.
What Did Company Officials Say About Jurenko’s Appointment?
Dominick Barry, chief operating officer at Aurex, described Jurenko as an innovative thinker capable of turning technical knowledge into strategies that drive customer growth. “His understanding of the defense landscape, and where it is headed, will be invaluable as Aurex helps shape the industry’s future,” Barry said.
Jurenko said he is looking forward to applying insights gained through his work in academic, government and industry settings to his new role, joining a team “that understands the importance of speed, agility, and affordability, especially at a time when our nation needs companies that can perform and reliably deliver advanced aerospace and defense solutions when they are needed most.”
What Is Aurex?
Aurex’s mission centers on delivering technologies supporting the full life cycle of aerospace and defense programs. The company applies its engineering and technical expertise to hypersonic vehicle development, providing modeling and simulation support to inform design choices and test strategies for advanced systems. It also plays a role in space domain awareness, delivering tools that help track and assess objects and debris in orbital environments to support planning and risk management.
In missile defense, Aurex provides digital modeling and analysis to help customers evaluate architectures and refine test approaches. Its work also extends into commercial and civil space efforts, where it supports programs from early-stage concepts through testing and operational deployment. In addition, the company manages test and launch ranges, delivering secure, data-driven operations paired with engineering and communications support.
