The Department of Veterans Affairs has issued a presolicitation for the Veterans Health Administration’s Biomedical Engineering Technical Professional Support Services, or BETPSS, multiple-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to assist biomedical engineering operations across VA medical facilities.
What Is the Objective of the BETPSS Contract?
According to the notice published Thursday on SAM.gov, VA is seeking companies capable of providing technical and professional support services for Biomedical Engineering departments across its medical centers, outpatient clinics, Veterans Integrated Service Network offices and VHA/VA program offices. Under the BETPSS contract, the selected contractor will help these facilities carry out corrective and preventive maintenance, deliver specialized biomedical engineering expertise and support project management activities.
The contract is also intended to provide personnel and resources for handling routine operational responsibilities, such as equipment maintenance and patient safety recall investigations, as well as short-term or unanticipated requirements. The agreement may also include unexpected support, such as COVID-19 pandemic assistance or operational readiness services for the Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization’s deployment of the Cerner electronic health record system.
What Are the Contract Details?
This multiple-award IDIQ includes a one-year base period and four one-year options. It has a minimum guaranteed amount of $2,500 and a maximum aggregate value of $175 million if all awards and task orders are exercised. Work will be conducted at VA medical centers and outpatient clinics across the U.S., including the continental U.S., Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico. Interested offerors may submit their responses by March 30.
