Hexcel’s former top executive, Nick Stanage, has been elected to the board of directors of HII. The industrial manufacturing experience that Stanage brings to the board covers decades of work in the aerospace, automotive and construction equipment industries, HII said Tuesday.
Hexcel recruited him in 2009, initially as president, transitioning to chief operating officer in 2012 and to CEO in 2013. After his retirement in May 2024 as president and CEO, he served as the company’s executive chairman up to November 2024.
Stanage’s Stints at Dana Holding, Honeywell Aerospace
Before his over 15 years’ stint at Hexcel, Stanage worked for more than five years at Dana Holding, where he served last as president of its heavy vehicle products group, according to his LinkedIn profile. In addition, he had handled various leadership roles in the 20 years that he was with Honeywell Aerospace, including his last position as vice president and general manager, engine systems and accessories.
Stanage is also on the TriMas board of directors, and he serves on its compensation, governance and nominating committees. He holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Western Michigan University.
Kirk Donald, HII chairman of the board, welcomed Stanage to the company’s team of directors. “His leadership experience and extensive understanding of industrial manufacturing and innovative solutions make him a valuable addition to the HII team as we position HII for further growth,” Donald said.
