The U.S. Navy has awarded KBR Services an indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity contract worth $55.6 million to provide base operations support at U.S. military facilities across the African nation of Djibouti. The contract includes options that, if exercised, would increase the maximum dollar value of the effort to $476.8 million, the Department of Defense said Monday.
Military Base Support
Under the contract, KBR will offer support services at Camp Lemonnier and Forward Operating Location Facility Support at Chabelley Airfield.
Camp Lemonnier, a U.S. Navy-led installation, is the primary base of operations for the U.S. Africa Command within the so-called Horn of Africa region. The site is home to approximately 4,000 military and civilian personnel from American, joint and allied forces.
Meanwhile, the Chabelley Airfield is the U.S. Air Forces Africa’s largest remotely piloted aircraft base. It was established by the 776th Expeditionary Air Base Squadron in 2013.
KBR’s work at the facilities will be completed in May 2034.
