Thomas Weidley, chief operating officer at Capewell since November 2021, has been promoted to CEO at the Connecticut-headquartered aerial delivery and survivability equipment manufacturer.
Capewell said Thursday Weidley replaces interim CEO Lane Wiggers and takes the helm as the company looks to grow its global defense market footprint.
He served 34 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and held the rank of major general before transitioning to the private sector.
His military career included participation in multiple combat operations in the Middle East and ashore and afloat operations within the Indo-Pacific Region.
Weidley holds a master’s degree in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College.
