General Atomics, Lockheed, Northrop Win Spots on $400M USAF Aerospace Tech Research Contract

General Atomics, Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) have won positions on a seven-year, $400 million contract to develop aerospace vehicle technologies and integrated systems for the U.S. Air Force.

The Air Force Research Laboratory received 15 offers on the Advanced Aerospace Systems Technology Research program, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

Awardees will aim to demonstrate, integrate and transition new aerospace platforms to the Department of the Air Force under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

AFRL will obligate $299,068 in fiscal 2023 research, development, test and evaluation funds to each contractor and expects work to run through April 4, 2030.

The service branch issued the IDIQ award one year after issuing a broad agency announcement for the AASTR program.
