HII (NYSE: HII) has named Leo Denault, former CEO and current executive chair of energy company Entergy Corp., to the military shipbuilder’s board of directors.
The four-decade industry veteran is known for leading Entergy’s transformation efforts to become one of the country’sclean power generation fleet operators, HII said Friday.
Denault took the helm at the New Orleans-headquartered utility in 2013 and, before that, held the titles of executive vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to Entergy, he was VP of corporate development at Cinergy.
He concurrently serves on the boards of the Edison Electric Institute, the Institute of Nuclear Power Operators and the World Association of Nuclear Operators’ Atlanta center.
“He is a leader in the nation’s power business and brings significant strategic experiences to the HII team. He has a deep understanding of electrical and nuclear power generation, transmission and distribution as well as the regulatory requirements to protect these national resources,” said Kirkland Donald, HII’s board chairman, said of Denault.
