Air Force Notifies Industry of $999M Follow-On Range Support Contract Vehicle

The U.S. Air Force is set to kick off a full and open competition for the second iteration of a contract vehicle aimed at updating test systems for munitions, electronic combat platforms, and command, control, computers, communications, cyber, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

A presolicitation notice posted on SAM.gov says the Air Force Test Center will award multiple positions on the Test and Evaluation Technologies for Ranges, Armaments and Spectrum II contract valued at $999.45 million.

The center plans to issue delivery orders over a five-year base period that would enable the 96th Range Group to rapidly test radio frequency spectrum-related systems outside of the normal acquisition cycle.

According to the center, contractor work would help the military meet its short lead times and dynamic test requirements amid an envisioned transition from 5th to 6th generation weapons and cyber systems.

The TETRAS II requests for proposal notice is scheduled for release between mid-April and early May.
