Harry Harris, a retired Navy admiral who formerly led U.S. Pacific Command, has joined the board of directors at L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX).
He previously promoted cybersecurity, cloud computing and 5G projects within the technology sector during his time as U.S. ambassador to South Korea, L3Harris said Friday.
Harris supervised 400,000 civilian and military personnel as USPACOM’s commander and has logged more than 4,400 hours with maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft platforms.
His four-decade military career also includes participation in operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and Desert Shield/Storm.
“Harris’ knowledge and expertise will be tremendous assets as we expand our global presence and partnerships, and invest in developing innovative integrated technologies to address our customers’ critical missions,” said Christopher Kubasik, vice chair and CEO of L3Harris and a three-time Wash100 awardee.
