The 25-year aerospace and defense industry veteran will also join Mercury’s EVP ranks and his professional background encompasses business development, engineering and program management, the company said Monday.
Mark Aslett, president and CEO of Mercury and a 2021 Wash100 Award recipient, said Wells brings technical and profit and loss management experience as the company aims to grow its microelectronics business.
Wells most recently managed unmanned and integrated offerings for Teledyne FLIR, which was formed after Teledyne Technologies (NYSE: TDY) acquired thermal imaging camera maker FLIR Systems in May for $8 billion in cash and stock.
He also worked at ICX Technologies and Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC).
