Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) has received a potential $82.1M contract to provide various forms of support for investigative studies at the U.S. Navy’s health research unit in San Diego, California.
The Navy said in a notice posted Thursday on the beta SAM website the cost-plus-fixed-fee award covers research support services for the Naval Health Research Center’s Operational Readiness Directorate.
According to the solicitation, the contractor will provide nonpersonal research support for NHRC’s intramural research and development activities including operations under the Warfighter Performance and Medical Modeling, Simulation and Mission Support departments.
Specifically, contract work includes analysis and reporting support, data monitoring, database framework creation and development of “operationally-relevant research ideas”, the Navy noted in the performance work statement.
NHRC’s WP department conducts R&D activities in subject areas such as human performance improvement, post-deployment behavioral health, injury-related assistance and wellness strategies.
Topic areas under the MMS department include casualty projections and data analytics concepts in partnership with interagency sources including the departments fo Defense, Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs.
The Navy expects Leidos to perform work throughout a one-year base period and a 12-month extension option.
