James Benton, interim chief information officer at PAE since August 2018, has been named permanent CIO of the Arlington, Va.-based government services contractor.
Benton will continue to oversee PAEs information technology field support operations, global service desk and cybersecurity initiatives, the company said Monday.
He said he looks forward to building up the companys technology services to further advance the corporate business strategy.
Benton has an extensive technology background in the federal market space, and broad inside experience with the federal government which makes him well-suited to provide IT strategies to shape our company for the future, said John Heller, CEO of PAE and a 2019 Wash100 winner.
Benton is a more than two-decade U.S. Marine Corps veteran who joined PAE as chief information security officer in 2015.
He has held senior technology leadership roles at companies including A-T Solutions and ManTech International (Nasdaq: MANT).
