BAE Systems‘ information and electronic systems integration unit has received a $64.5 million contract to design, develop, manufacture and sustain an armament tester system for the U.S. Air Force‘s bomber aircraft fleet.
The Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday the contractor will support the engineering and manufacturing development of 90 Bomber Armament Testers the Air Force intends to use on B-2A, B1-B and B-52H weapons.
BATs will have a common core tester and test program set for all three aircraft models and be designed to help the Air Force test stores management systems and line replaceable units on- and off-aircraft, according to a FedBizOpps summary.
The service branch obligated $17.1 million in fiscal 2016 and 2017 research and development funds at the time of award.
Work will be performed in San Diego, California, through Feb. 1, 2027.
