L3 Technologies (NYSE: LLL) has launched an intelligence and mission systems sector that comprises the defense contractor’s Micreo, Oceania and TRL Technology subsidiaries.
The IMS sector aims to leverage complementary technology platforms and processes of all three units as well as their engineering and technical expertise to serve government customers, L3 said Aug. 21.
Oceania and Micreo are headquartered in Australia while TRL is based in the U.K.
Greg Roberts, TRL president and CEO, serves as president of the new business segment in addition to his current position.
Roberts joined L3 in September 2015 after he previously served as vice president and general manager of Curtiss-Wright‘s controls avionics and electronics unit.
He also held managing director roles at Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and Thales.
