Cambridge, Massachusetts-based knowledge discovery firm Diffeo has purchased Boston-based startup Meta Search for an undisclosed sum as part of efforts to expand search and discovery technology offerings.
Diffeo said Tuesday it also renamed Meta Searchs platform to Diffeo Cloud Search as part of the acquisition.
“Diffeo’s customers in government, financial services and consulting have very demanding data security requirements and complex on-premises installation needs, ” said Emily Pavlini, co-founder and product manager of Meta Search.
John Frank, Diffeo CEO, said the merger will allow the company to offer both search and discovery platforms to clients.
The Diffeo Cloud Search platform, formerly Meta, works to help users search files on all devices as well as on cloud environments such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote and Slack through a single search interface.
Diffeos Advanced Discovery Toolbox is a content discovery platform designed to recommend content to in-progress documents through the application of machine intelligence algorithms and text analytics.
