Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) has appointed Susan Jacobs, director of human resources and administration at HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding segment, to succeed the retiring Bill Bell as vice president of HR and administration for the company’s Newport News Shipbuilding division.
Huntington Ingalls said Friday Jacobs will manage the Newport News, Va.-based NNS segment’s HR administration, employment, labor relations and recruitment functions along with the division’s security and environmental health and safety organizations in her new role starting Dec. 2.
Susan has worked in the HR industry since 1986 in various positions of responsibility and brings experience, leadership and new perspectives to our HR team, ” said Matt Mulherin, NNS president.
Jacobs has held her current role at the Ingalls Shipbuilding segment since 2007 and she served as senior HR director at L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) prior to her appointment at Huntington Ingalls.
