Mary Cullen
Mary Cullen, a 31-year veteran of Huntington Ingalls Industries(NYSE: HII), has been appointed to succeed the retiring Barry Fletcher as vice president of nuclear propulsion within the company’s Newport News Shipbuilding division.
Her appointment is effective Nov. 14 and she will manage the division’s overhaul engineering, reactor services, test engineering, radiological controls, construction, process engineering, refueling production and nuclear support operations in her new role, HII said Monday.
Marys expertise, diversity of thought and inclusive leadership style will foster innovative ideas and solutions to continue the divisions strong performance, ” said Matt Mulherin, Newport News Shipbuilding president.
Cullen has held various leadership positions in the division’s environmental engineering and radiological control engineering departments since she joined the company in 1985.
Her previous roles include radiological control deputy director, production refueling and nuclear support superintendent and construction director.
She also supervised the inactivation of the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier at the NNS shipyard.
