Air Force Previews $200M Base Engineering Acquisition Plan

The U.S. Air Force expects to issue a request for proposals by the end of August for a potential five-year, $200 million contract designed to address engineering requirements at Eglin Air Force Base and associated facilities in Florida.

The Simplified Acquisition of Base Engineering Requirements is reserved for 8(a) small businesses and will use the tradeoff source selection method, according to a presolicitation notice posted Friday.

SABRE comprises maintenance, repair, alteration and construction projects that could include tasks such as carpentry, excavation, interior electrical, demolition, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

The 96th Civil Engineering SABER Office will determine the specific projects and tasks and a selected contractor will have space for a temporary office facility at Eglin AFB.
