Booz Allen Defense Head Karen Dahut to Retire Oct. 31, Judi Dotson Named Successor

Karen Dahut, president of the global defense sector at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) a two-time Wash100 winner, will retire from the company on Oct. 31 after a two-decade career, Booz Allen President and CEO Horacio Rozanski announced Friday in the company’s fiscal 2023 first quarter earnings call.

Rozanski, a two-time Wash100 Award winner, said Dahut will be succeeded by Judi Dotson, who has served as head of the firm’s national security sector since April 2020.

Dahut assumed her current role in April 2018 after she previously led the firm’s commercial and civil businesses. The former U.S. Navy officer also oversaw the Strategic Innovation Group and Navy and Marine Corps business at the McLean, Virginia-based government contractor.

Judi Dotson

Dotson has been with the company for 33 years and Rozanski noted that the next defense unit president will aim to accelerate the sector in line with Booz Allen’s growth strategy “Velocity, Leadership, Technology” or VoLT.

In addition, Rozanski made the announcement that Tom Pfeifer, an executive vice president, will replace Dotson as president of the national security segment.
