Karlton Johnson, a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, has been elected to be chairman of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body’s board of directors, FedScoop reported Tuesday.

The report said Johnson most recently served as the CMMC-AB board vice chair and has held the chairman position on an acting basis since September.

Previously, he was chief information officer of the Multinational Security Transition Command-Iraq and helped a joint team develop information and communications technology platforms for the Iraqi defense and interior ministries and counterterrorism bureau.
