The State Department has cleared Australia’s request to procure from the U.S. government long-range cruise missile systems manufactured by Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) under a potential $895 million foreign military sale deal.
Australia asked to buy 200 Tomahawk Block V missiles and associated support for all up rounds, a tactical weapon control system and a theater mission planning hub, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Thursday.
The proposed sale additionally includes 20 units of the current Block IV configuration, spares, software and hardware products, communication equipment and support services.
Raytheon’s missiles and defense business will serve as the prime contractor on the sale.
The transaction will require temporary government and contracting personnel visits to Australia to support program management, inventory control and technical requirements.
