In September 2022, the DPR-RQ Construction, a Carlsbad-based joint venture, was one of the seven companies selected for the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command’s potential $1 billion contract award. Under the contract, the joint venture constructed, renovated, and repaired medical treatment facilities (e.g., dental clinics, medical research laboratories, and hospitals) at different government installations in states including Arizona, California, Colorado, and Hawaii. The work is expected to end by September 2030.

In September 2010, DPR Construction was one of the selected consortia of companies for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ potential $1.2 billion contract award. Under the contract, the winning bidders built 100,000 square feet for a Tier III data center, with 900,000 square feet for tech support and admin space at Camp Williams in Utah. This was for the National Security Agency’s mission to secure the agency’s computer networks from hacks and attacks.

The data center supports the government’s Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative by President George Bush which started in 2008. It provided technical support for the Homeland Security Department’s mission to secure federal civilian agency networks. The computer center allotted over 900,000 square feet of administrative space and technical support.

3. The Department of the Navy’s Reconstruction of Headquarter Buildings of Marine Corps Base Camp at Lejeune, North Carolina, $144 Million

In August 2020, the RQ-DPR Joint Venture received an estimated $143.6 million contract award from the Department of the Navy to reconstruct and provide replacements for the headquarters buildings struck by Hurricane Florence at the Marine Corps Base Camp in North Carolina. The agreement includes 45 unexercised planned modifications and 19 unexercised options, raising the contract’s potential value to $178.3 million. The work was divided into eight projects with an estimated completion date of March 2025.

In May 2020, the Conroe Local Government Corporation awarded an $86 million construction contract to DPR Construction for the next-level development of a new convention center and hotel at Grand Central Park. The hotel and convention center was projected to include at least 250 suits and guestrooms, with 31,000 square feet allotted for meeting rooms, a ballroom, swimming pools, and business and fitness facilities.

In March 2022, the RQ-DPR joint venture was awarded an estimated $61 million contract to design and construct Fleet Readiness Center’s aircraft paint complex in California. The work includes paint and corrosion control facilities, a heat-resistant aircraft access ramp, a new wash rack, and high bay areas that fit the facilities onsite and support the aircraft requirements at the Fleet Readiness Center Southwest. The work is expected to be completed by November 2023. If all options are exercised, the ceiling value can go up to $61.1 million.

The contract required the designing and building battalion headquarters at the base in North Carolina. It included building an applied instruction laboratory for resistance, evasion, escape (SERE) training, and survival. The expected end date was on January 2016.
