IT services integrator 22nd Century Technologies has promoted Richard Forsht, an IT and telecommunications leader, to senior vice president of federal services and named him head of the newly formed 22nd Century Networks.

In a LinkedIn post published Friday, the company said the promotion reflects Forsht’s leadership in federal and Department of War environments, along with experience driving operational performance and scaling capabilities across IT, telecom, networking and digital transformation.
According to the company, the latest move reinforces its commitment to expanding its federal footprint and advancing end-to-end service integration across network modernization, artificial intelligence-enabled operations and IT service management.
What Are the Focus Areas of 22nd Century Networks?
With Forsht at the helm, the company said 22nd Century Networks will focus on next-generation telecom, networking, cyber and connectivity platforms.
The unit’s priorities include zero trust, AI-driven operations and quantum-ready architecture, along with support for Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program Impact Levels 4, 5 and 6 environments. The organization will also work to accelerate innovation across 5G and 6G, satellite infrastructure, edge computing and mission-critical systems.
Who Is Richard Forsht?
In April 2025, Forsht joined 22nd Century Technologies as VP of federal services.
He previously served as program manager and senior enterprise architect at the General Services Administration.
Before GSA, he spent 13 years at the Defense Information Systems Agency, where he served as chief of the Global Service Desk Management Office. During his time at DISA, Forsht managed a service desk as a service portfolio for DOW’s 4th Estate and led a global team of more than 600 IT professionals across 30 remote locations to provide IT support.
In the private sector, he served as deputy engineering program manager and senior IT consultant at Verizon and as a senior IT consultant at ITT Advanced Engineering and Sciences.
Forsht also served in the U.S. Air Force as an IT and telecom senior architect.
