Inmarsat Wins $980M DISA Contract for Managed Global Satellite Services

Inmarsat‘s U.S. government subsidiary has won a potential 10-year, $979.8 million contract from the Defense Information Systems Agency to provide a managed satellite communications service to the U.S. Navy.

The Defense Information Technology Organization received two proposals for the follow-on Commercial Broadband Satellite Program Satellite Services Contract and will obligate the $25,000 minimum guarantee through an initial task order, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

In a July 1 solicitation notice, DISA said the program covers the provision of satellite capacity in C, Ku, Ka and X-bands for mobile and fixed satellite transceivers on airborne, ground and manned and unmanned maritime platforms.

CSSC II has a three-year base period of performance, three two-year option periods and an additional one-year extension.

The agency expects work to conclude on Sept. 7, 2032.
