Boeing (NYSE: BA) has secured a seven-year, $2.24B contract from the U.S. Air Force to produce lot 15 Small Diameter Bombs for the Department of Defense and seven foreign military sales customers.
The company will supply SDB Increment I munition, along with containers and carriages, and will receive $247.5M at the time of award, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, Japan, Israel, Korea and Australia are procuring the guided bombs under the FMS program.
The SDB weapon is designed to release from fighter, bomber and unmanned combat aircraft platforms that have internal and external carriages.
