Alexandre L’Heureux, president and CEO of WSP, said in a statement published Wednesday the company welcomes 6,000 E&I employees and transaction will enable WSP to pursue opportunities in the environmental and water sectors while delivering multidisciplinary services to clients.
Wood’s E&I offers engineering, environmental permitting, remediation consulting, environmental management, inspection and monitoring services to government, infrastructure, oil and gas, industrial, water, power and mining clients.
Personnel of the business work in approximately 100 offices in more than 10 countries, including the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
“Aligned with our Global Strategic Action Plan, this acquisition, along with our other recently announced transactions, will contribute to the achievement of our strategic ambitions while expanding our geographical range and adding expertise in key sectors,” added L’Heureux.
WSP, which first announced the transaction in June, financed the acquisition and other transaction costs with a new term credit facility worth $1.81 billion.
