The Department of State has approved eight foreign military sales requests to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office, or TECRO, with a combined value of $11.10 billion, including a possible $1.01 billion deal for Tactical Mission Network software, equipment and services.
What Is the Scope of TECRO’s Tactical Mission Network FMS?
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Wednesday the potential TMN transaction covers unmanned aerial systems, communications gear, software, training, tool kits, test and support equipment, spare parts and maintenance services. The proposed deal also includes technical documentation, telecommunication services, system security services, analysis services, fusion services, safety and range support, cloud engineering support, technical support, engineering and logistics support services, warranty services, Systems Integration and Checkout, and field office support.
What Are Taiwan’s Other Approved FMS Requests?
Aside from the TMN transaction, the State Department also approved the following TECRO FMS requests:
- High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or HIMARS, launchers, ATACMS missiles, GMLRS pods, HMMWVs and IFATDS units valued at $4.05 billion
- M109A7 self-propelled howitzers, M992A3 ammunition carriers, M88A2 recovery vehicles, recision guidance kits, IFATDS units worth $4.03 billion
- ALTIUS‑700M loitering munition systems and ALTIUS‑600 intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems worth $1.1 billion
- Javelin FGM-148F missiles, fly-to-buy acceptance missiles, lightweight command launch units, and associated equipment and services, valued at $375 million
- Tube-launched, optically tracked, Wire-guided missile system, 2B BGM‑71F‑7‑RF missiles, fly‑to‑buy acceptance missiles, improved target acquisition systems and related accessories and services for $353 million
- AH‑1W helicopter spare and repair parts, along with technical and logistics support, valued at $96 million.
- Harpoon missile repair and follow-on support, worth $91.4 million
