AMERICAN SYSTEMS Appoints Lauren Kilcoyne as COO

AMERICAN SYSTEMS has appointed Lauren Kilcoyne, an operations and program executive, as chief operating officer, effective Jan. 5.

In this capacity, Kilcoyne will lead operations, develop and implement business plans, play a role in the company’s acquisition strategies, drive collaboration and facilitate the implementation of strategic objectives, the company said Wednesday.

“After a thorough search, Lauren has been selected to fill this significant position on our Executive Leadership Team,” said John Steckel, president and CEO of AMERICAN SYSTEMS. “She is an accomplished leader with a proven track record of execution and growth results, and I am confident her insight and leadership will positively impact AMERICAN SYSTEMS.”

Who Is Lauren Kilcoyne?

Kilcoyne brings over two decades of operational and leadership experience to her role as COO, with expertise spanning artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, systems engineering, IT and business development.

She most recently served as executive vice president and general manager of the Air Force division at Astrion.

Her career also includes senior leadership positions at several GovCon companies, including Empower AI, Capgemini, Leidos and Lockheed Martin.

The Villanova University computer engineering graduate holds a master’s degree in systems engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

“As COO, my focus will be on ensuring overall operational performance of the company and driving excellence and efficiency and maximization of our employee-owners’ shareholder value,” said Kilcoyne.
