L3 Technologies (NYSE: LLL) has received a three-year, $391 million contract to produce binocular night vision goggles for the U.S. Army.
The company said Monday it will supply the military service with EnhancedNight Vision Goggle Binocular devices to help ground forces engage threats and obtain a common operating environment.
ENVG-B is equipped with a white phosphor image intensification technology and a thermal channel designed to support image fusion and thermal targeting.
Christopher Kubasik, chairman, CEO and president at L3, said the company develops night vision products to support military customers who perform missions in the battlefield.
“As the Army continues to modernize to keep pace with near-peer adversaries, our agility and experience enable us to move quickly in a heightened threat environment,” Kubasik added.
The dual-tube goggle includes a high-resolution display, an embedded wireless personal area network, target acquisition and augmented reality algorithms that can integrate with the Nett Warrior situational awareness system.
L3 designed the ENVG-B to also operate with the service branch’s arsenal of modern weapon sights.
