According to GDLS, the Sgt Stout vehicle provides lethal mobile and survivable air defense against various aerial threats. The IM-SHORAD vehicle, based on the new Stryker A1 chassis and built for multidomain operations, is equipped with a 30mm cannon and designed to fire Hellfire and Stinger missiles to destroy, neutralize or deter low-altitude aerial threats.
GDLS received the base contract, worth $1.21 billion, in September 2020 to produce, test and deliver IM-SHORAD systems to the Army.
