Ken Peterman , chairman of the board of directors of Comtech Telecommunications (Nasdaq: CMTL), has been appointed to also serve as president and CEO at the Melville, New York-based communications equipment provider.
He succeeds Michael Porcelain , who resigned from the dual role and the board after 20 years of service with Comtech, the company said Wednesday.
Porcelain said he will remain as a Comtech shareholder and assist in the transition as needed.
Peterman, a four-decade defense and aerospace industry veteran, joined as a member of the Comtech board in May and received appointment to succeed Fred Kornberg as chairman in July.
He founded his own executive advisory services company, SpyGlass Group, in 2012 and previously led ViaSat ’s (Nasdaq: VSAT) government systems unit.
