Lockheed Martin has received a U.S. Navy contract modification worth approximately $3.63 billion to provide F-35 logistics support services for domestic and international military customers.

Register now for the Potomac Officers Club’s 2026 Air and Space Summit. The Lockheed-backed event in July will bring together military leaders and industry executives to discuss the latest technologies across air and space domains.

The Department of War said Friday Lockheed’s aeronautics business will perform ground maintenance, depot activities, action request solution, supply chain management, automatic logistics information system operations and maintenance, pilot training and training system sustainment.

Work will occur in Texas, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia and California through December 2026.

The contract action will support F-35 Lightning II joint strike fighter planes used by the Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, non-DOW program partners and foreign military sales customers.

Naval Air Systems Command is funding the modification using the U.S. military services’ fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance budget, non-DOW program participant funds and FMS customer funds.

The Navy issued the modification under a potential $1.6 billion contract awarded in June 2024.

What F-35 Logistics Contracts Has Lockheed Secured?

The contract modification marks the latest award Lockheed secured for F-35 logistics support.

In June, the company landed a $250 million Navy contract modification for production and sustainment of the F-35 logistics information system. The following month, the company secured $165 million in Navy contracts for F-35 long-lead materials and Agile software development support.

In December 2024, Lockheed received a potential $3.4 billion Navy contract modification for F-35 logistics support services, including maintenance, supply chain management and training for U.S. and international operators.

What Is F-35?

The F-35 Lightning II is a family of multirole fighter jets designed to support air-to-air combat, air-to-ground strikes, electronic warfare and intelligence missions. The aircraft features stealth technology, advanced sensors and avionics, and networked capabilities to facilitate the sharing of data with other planes and command centers.

It comes in three variants: the F-35A for conventional takeoff and landing, the F-35B for short takeoff and vertical landing and the F-35C carrier variant.
