Aquia Brings Back Co-Founder David Maskeroni as CEO

Aquia Inc. is welcoming back its co-founder David Maskeroni as CEO. The government modernization and digital services firm said Maskeroni will succeed Chris Hughes, who will be stepping down from the CEO role after over a year of service.

“We are grateful to Chris for his contributions to Aquia since its founding in 2021, including his support in strengthening key client relationships and serving as a brand advocate,” Maskeroni stated.

Who Is David Maskeroni?

Maskeroni was the CEO of Aquia from 2021 to 2024. He stepped into the chief revenue officer position when Hughes was appointed CEO.

Before Aquia, he served as vice president of TISTA Science and Technology, an IT provider supporting the federal government.

A health IT expert, Maskeroni also held the roles of program manager and then as director of government services at Nuna Inc., a payment arrangements and healthcare delivery company.

Earlier in his career, he spent six years in various positions at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Maskeroni also served in the U.S. Army.

What Is Aquia?

Aquia, based in Millsboro, Delaware, partners with government agencies to provide public services and support federal missions.

In November, Aquia Nava II, a joint venture between Aquia and Nava Public Benefit Corp., secured a three-year contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide technical management to its National Artificial Intelligence Institute.

Aquia Nava II also won a contract in April to modernize the VA’s disability claims processing system.
