India orders AN/ALE-47 countermeasures dispensing systems, spare AN/ALR-56M radar warning receivers, flare cartridges, spare and repair parts, configuration updates and test equipment, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Friday.
The South Asian nation intends for the systems to operate and modernize its C-130J aircraft for local and international humanitarian assistance and regional disaster relief missions.
Lockheed will also provide publications, technical, training, engineering and logistics support services to India.
The proposed deal is part of the United Statesâ foreign policy and national security program to bolster the U.S.-India strategic relationship.
